FAQs
Can I pay with a government credit card?
Yes, the military is emphasizing more and more, the use of
government travel cards for lodging payments on TDY. Our
credit card processing company assures the use of government credit
cards for payment of lodging expenses.
How Do TDY Vouchers Work?
Military Members on
TDY status are allotted a certain amount of money dedicated solely
to Lodging Expenses while here at Fort Huachuca. This amount
fluctuates and depends on vacancy in the OnPost Army lodging.
However, TDY personnel always have the option of declining OnPost
lodging with a "Statement of Refusal" and using that money to find
lodging on the economy.
The process is the
same no matter if you stay on post or off post. TDY personnel
will pay for their lodging and submit a TDY voucher to DFAS, who in
response reimburses the TDY personnel straight to his/her bank
account. Those on TDY also have the option of submitting a
"TDY Advance" which is a faster process and gives the Military
Member the money upfront in order to pay for lodging.
How Can I Be Expected To Pay Upfront and Wait for Reimbursement?
No matter where you choose to lodge, you will always be expected
to pay upfront. The way that we can help you avoid seeing
holes in your checking account is by setting up a credit card
payment option. By paying with credit card at the beginning of
the month most likely your reimbursements will come through to allow
you to pay off that credit card bill by the end of the month.
Can I move in even if I'm living at the VOQ's?
Yes, the VOQ's may want you to stay, but you are the decision
maker in where you choose to use your lodging money. They will
ask you to pay what you owe them and then you can move into this
house and continue to pay just as if you were still at the VOQ's.
